In the division of biotechnology we focus on cellular and biomolecular processes to develop products, process and technologies to help in improving the healthcare delivery. The major thrust of this division is to drive innovations by engaging in technology oriented research. Some of the key focuses are; bioprospecting and product development, alternative strategies for targeting antibiotic resistance, nano-biosensing, quorum sensing, biofilms, bioprocess development for microbial products, application of biotechnology for alleviation of toxicity.
This division mainly focuses on cutting edge research on the development of novel nano-prodrugs for targeted delivery, bio-imaging, bio-medical polymers for bio-sensing, electrocatalysis, and sensing by employing novel nano-carbon materials. The group is funded by National agencies for the development of paper analytical device for point-of-care diagnostics.
