Ciliary dysfunction: from relative obscurity to a formidable position

Date: 24th January 2019
Speaker:
  • Dr. Jacinta S. D’Souza, Professor & Chairperson, School of Biological Sciences, University of Mumbai and Department of Atomic Energy, Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus, Mumbai
  • Topic: Ciliary dysfunction: from relative obscurity to a formidable position

Dr. Jacinta S. D’Souza visited Yenepoya Research Centre on 24.01.2019, to deliver a Guest Lecture on “Ciliary dysfunction: from relative obscurity to a formidable position”. The lecture focused on Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as a model organism to understand the ciliary architecture and dysfunction. She gave insights on the mechanistic details of motility by flagella and cilia and the structural futures the central flagellar pair, using conventional molecular techniques.
