Dr. Manohara Pai M.M. visited Yenepoya Research centre on 18.02.2019 to deliver a guest lecture on “Interactive session on start-ups, incubation and entrepreneurship”. In his lecture, he had discussed about innovation in detail for scientists and scholars. As per his experience, innovation means “Novel solution for the problem with a commercial value”. He also explained about early detection of diabetic foot ulcer product as an example for getting a grant from various funding agencies including BIRAC. In his lecture he also emphasised on Intellectual Property Right (IPR) including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and geographical indications. In addition to this, he also explained about starting companies by researchers, setting up an incubation ecosystem in university, and people with entrepreneurship. He shared his own experiences and interacted with YRC faculty members. Faculties, research scholars, and students participated in this guest lecture and interacted with the guest speaker.
